I’m talking: showing up for yourself not only through your thoughts but your actions, sharing your heart boldly, having proper boundaries that protect your energy, and feeling SPECIAL and connected to the magic of your life on a regular basis.

what is spotlight about?

In my work as a creativity coach, I’ve seen a common theme over & over again:

One of our deepest desires as human beings is the desire to be seen. 

What does that mean? Being seen?

It means feeling special, feeling understood, feeling recognized for our magic.

It means being celebrated by ourselves and by our people (the right people!) - and fully knowing that we deserve it.

and yet…

We are taught in our culture that our desire to be seen is frivolous, arrogant, selfish.

(But the desire to be seen remains.)

We are taught that wanting to feel special is unattractive.

(But the desire to be seen remains.)

We are taught that promoting our work as artists or sharing photos of ourselves that feel beautiful or taking extra care of ourselves are all needy actions.

(But the desire to be seen remains.)

So, of course, we push down our desire. 

And that creates an almost unbearable amount of tension then when we consciously know we want to be seen.

This tension shows up in our minds & bodies. Some of it is conscious & yet a lot of it is unconscious.

Say we’re going for a job opportunity, or say we want to promote our work online, or say we want to stand up for ourselves in our relationships.

But if we aren’t allowing ourselves to be seen — if we internalize all those above lessons from the world — then we will always stop ourselves from being seen.

Our bodies make us stop. Sometimes our nerves get to us. We emotionally overreact or we shut down. Sometimes we make ourselves sick.

Our minds tell us we clearly can’t handle it.

It’s like living with a terrible knot inside yourself.

You want to be seen - but you also really, really don’t.

This is the art of being yourself out loud.

I grew up with this unbearable knot inside me of both wanting to be seen — and also feeling terrified of having anyone look at me or notice me.

I felt invisible all my life. I also made myself invisible.

I desperately longed to be an artist (the definition of being very publicly vulnerable, very seen!) - and yet something in me was always holding back from the spotlight.

I would get inspired to make art (hell, I made a whole feature film and cast myself as the lead!), but then somewhere along the way I would lose steam. I’d get exhausted from the vulnerability of being seen.

My body rebelled from what my mind was telling me to do. So then I’d try to convince myself to just work harder.

But I felt like I was always working double time. (Spoiler: I was. I bet you are too.)

So I’d quit. I wouldn’t just rest—I’d disappear. Until the next creative inspiration happened and then I’d push to my breaking point and quit again.

It was a hellish Catch-22.

I kept searching for band-aids: Maybe this online marketing course will help me, maybe this haircut, maybe this solo travel will bring me out of my shell for good, maybe if I sell this screenplay and make enough money, maybe if I hit this milestone.

Maybe I’ll finally feel like I get to be at the center of my life.

Maybe I’ll finally feel seen.

But nothing worked.

It took me YEARS to understand what was happening inside of my mind that kept causing me to push so hard and then run away.

I had to study it. I immersed myself in it. I studied life coaching, NLP, EFT, shadow work, inner child work, somatic healing techniques. I dug and dug and now I’m sharing it with you.

The thing is: I’d never learned how to hold the energy of other people’s attention.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: I barely knew how to cultivate my own attention on myself!

this is what i’ll teach you to do in this course.

In Spotlight we will work from the ground up to bring ourselves back into the center of our lives.

We will immerse ourselves in our history around behind seen and why this is so complicated in our culture.

. . .

We will work through our shadows and shame so that we can show up authentically and without apology, despite how others respond.

. . .

We will learn how to work with the nervous system (not against it!) and we’ll gently shift our identities into people who show up regularly and proudly in their lives.

. . .

And we will cultivate our rebel spirit, our sense of joy, and we’ll take back our authority and our power.

TANGIBLE TOOLS to Break Into the Spotlight

Over the course of 12 weeks we will be:

  • releasing old stories of who we’re allowed to be in the world through shadow work and de-shaming techniques

  • freeing up our energy from our past to make room for us to connect to our power by rewriting our stories of how we got here - and where we’re going next

  • learning somatic healing techniques to release the stress responses that come up when we put ourselves out there and risk rejection and vulnerability

  • shifting our identities gradually and safely into people who advocate for themselves and recognize their own power (NOTE: sudden change shocks the nervous system - you’ve likely experienced this before. This is what makes us quit! In 12 weeks we’ll go through gentle shifts that will create LASTING change in your life.)

  • moving through perfectionism and black-and-white thinking about how we’re seen - by ourselves and by others

  • taking small but significant dares and risks as well as giving ourselves luxury upgrades that stretch us and strengthen our confidence

  • taking responsibility for what we want and need in our lives - no more waiting!

  • reconnecting with our inner rebel in a way that feels fun - literally no one else’s opinion will be able to hold power over us anymore after this

what’s included:

-Every week you’ll receive an in-depth class on a different aspect of the art of seeing yourself & being seen along with corresponding writing prompts & exercises that will change your relationship to your life and the way you feel in the eyes of the world

-We’ll do a class a week for three weeks & then we’ll take an off week to catch up & refill.

-BUT I will also offer bonus workshops on the off weeks on topics like social media, abundance, & other surprises as we go along

-Each month we’ll do several EFT tapping sessions as well as other targeted somatic healing practices to move this work through your body.

You will receive HOURS of video classes as well as exercises and prompts every class to deepen this work and help you take real, tangible actions in your life to embody yourself more deeply and unapologetically.

You will also be able to do email coaching directly with me as you go through the course and you have the option to do additional 1:1 video/phone coaching as well, if you choose (an additional $75 a session).
